STOP IT !!
What to Do
If you are being bullied, here are some things that you can do to STOP the bullying.
-
Don’t get upset or angry – it's what the bully wants. It makes them feel more powerful. Some kids find it useful to count to 10, take deep breaths, ignore the bully, walk away, or tell the bully to stop. By ignoring the bully, you're showing that you don't care and eventually, the bully will get bored of trying to bother you. Although you may pretend that it does not hurt you we still encourage you to talk to someone you trust and not keep it bottled up inside until it becomes to late. If you do not feel happy when you are around your friends and you feel that they are teasing you and will not stop when you ask them to, we suggested that you try to find some new friends that don’t put you down or make you feel below them.
-
Tell someone! Teachers, principals, parents, friends, and lunchroom personnel at school can all help stop bullying.
Are you a Bully? Here are some ways to stop:
What should I do?
If you are a bully, you can change. Firstly, why do you bully and do you do any of the following?
-
Do you mean to upset or hurt others?
-
Do you know when you are bullying?
-
Is something making you unhappy, angry or frustrated?
-
Do you feel left out or lonely at school?
-
Is someone picking on you?
-
Do your friends bully others?
If you want to change your behavior, the first step is to acknowledge that you have a problem. It’s a good idea to get help. Talk to a trusted adult, someone at school like a guidance counsellor, or type to us, even if it is anonymously, and we’ll help you through it and give advice.
The next thing to do is to apologise to the person or people that you have bullied. Do it privately and don't be upset if they are a little suspicious of you; they just need to get used to the new you.
You can also try to develop new interests. Find out about local groups or clubs you could join.

Is your friend a bully?
How can you stop them?
Don't be a bystander! If one of your friends or peers is bullying someone, don't encourage them! Instead of laughing and supporting it, let the bully know that such behaviour is wrong. Tell a trusted adult; if you can't help your friend, let an adult help.
You can also lead by example - if a few people say 'no' to bullying, others will follow by example, making the bully feel like the odd one out.

What should i do?
-
Tell an adult! Get an adult you know to get involved!
-
Be a friend to the victim - being friendly can go a long way and can make them feel like they're not alone.
-
Help them to stay away from the bully - make sure that they know how to avoid the bully.
